Cheryl spent many summers on her grandparents Iowa horse farm; mucking stalls, exercising and grooming horses, in addition to working in their tack store. A lifelong horse owner as well as operating her own facility with her daughter Sarah she has more than 40 years of experience in equine care and horsemanship.
She has a background in education; certified and experienced in teaching both Pre-K and 1st -3rd grade for more than 15 years. In addition, she holds both a Nursing degree and Certification as a Reading Intervention Specialist, working for and in support of children with language learning disorders (ADHD, Dyslexia, Asperger, Autism, APD)
Cheryl has combined her love and knowledge of children and horses with her passion for teaching to create our FOUNDATIONS program here at Sue BD. In addition, she is currently building the APPRENTICESHIP program for those students 12-16 yr. with a desire to learn more about equine care and communication as well as a WEE ONES class for our littlest students and their parent(s).
